The first goal is to understand interdisciplinary collaboration regarding nurses’ medical practices and the care of nursing facilities. Another aim of our paper is to gain a broader view of nursing concepts. Abstract Interdisciplinary collaborations are highly correlated. Often nursing care is performed with physicians of a close relationship as part of other professional practices; thus interdisciplinary collaborations can play an important role in promoting the management of interdisciplinary nursing care. A much growing body of literature about senior nurses’ interdisciplinary health care practices in different specialty or specialties opens the ways to study nurses’ interdisciplinary knowledge, behavior and practice. Therefore, this paper aimed to review interdisciplinary collaborations among nurses. We attempted to map the characteristics of interdisciplinary collaboration within the context of senior nursing. We used the context analysis method to identify interdisciplinary collaboration among the different nursing professional subspecialties between 2004 and 2005 through quantitative interviews with key informants, semi-structured quantitative interviews and interviews with leading nurses. In 2005, several nurses entered a residency program at the Massachusetts General Hospital, an open-ended residency program offering an internship, master’s degree (MSG) program, and bachelor’s degree in nursing (DAD). They explored co-counsel agreements to be effective and beneficial for post-docs to improve how they provide care. Researchers conducted large-scale interviews and transcribed codes.
